For more than 25 years, Richard Koonce has trained and competed at the highest levels of sport and performance. His athletic journey includes winning a state championship in high school—earning Offensive MVP honors in the title game—playing Division I football and becoming a team captain, holding lifting records at East Carolina University, and competing professionally in the NFL with the Pittsburgh Steelers and NFL Europe's Rhein Fire. Beyond football, he has competed in USA Weightlifting at the national level and trained with the same discipline and intensity required to serve his community as a career firefighter.

Richard Koonce brings elite-level experience to every training session. His background as a professional athlete and lifelong competitor gives him a deep understanding of what it takes to change your body, perform under pressure, develop resilient athletes, and build long-term physical readiness.

He currently serves as a collegiate Strength & Conditioning Coach, where he blends real-world athletic experience with evidence-based, cutting-edge training methodologies to develop strength, speed, power, and durability in his athletes. His approach is rooted in the belief that everyone has the strength to make their lives better, but it starts with a C.H.O.I.C.E.
